Paris, January 1910
🌊 An exceptional flood of the Seine brought all of Marie’s work to a standstill. Her faithful mice could no longer scour the streets and underground passages of Paris to gather the data so vital to her research.
🐭 Marie therefore decided to occupy her time by changing her subject of study: the mice, her invaluable helpers. Without a single word, these little creatures understood Marie’s intentions, though she had no idea how.
She had noticed their eyes were becoming increasingly blue. A blue as pure and sparkling as that part of the signal she had found a few years earlier.
🔍 As her research progressed and she interacted with the mice, she realised that through constant exposure to the Curie frequency, her faithful friends had absorbed some of this substance.
And the more they absorbed, the stronger, smarter and more sociable they became. The irradiated mice were in excellent health and appeared to have a longer life expectancy.

🛡 This is a major victory for the agency! Its researchers have succeeded in incorporating symbols into the scanner: the Glyphs. Having just arrived at the agency, an intern approaches Hank to ask him:
“Sir, what are these Glyphs for?” “It’s a sort of alphabet of words; when you activate it on the portal, you can read a message. We’ve had this alphabet in our possession for over a century!” “Where did it come from?” Hank declared: “From Marie Curie’s office; she is the key to many things!”
