Get your scanners and your feet ready! One of the most exciting Anomalies is coming at full speed! And it’s in Paris, on 22 August 2026, that the festivities will take place, from 2.00 pm to 5.00 pm (local time) A whole weekend of official Niantic events awaits you, culminating in a battle on your scanners.
❓ OK, but what is an Anomaly?
XM Anomalies are global Ingress events that take place in cities designated by Niantic. Registering and taking part in this Anomaly is free, which is a great reason to join us! In practical terms, it’s a gathering of agents from both factions who battle for several hours to control an area of the city via their scanners.
How? There are several ways to test your opponents:
- ⚔️ Battles for control of selected portals (Battle Beacon)
- 💎 A battle to transport artefacts (Shard battle) to each faction’s target portals.
And afterwards? We’ve got you covered: to celebrate your achievements and relive them together, a Resistance after-party will be organised!

No need to be a highly-trained Level 16 agent: all willing participants are welcome. The organisers are planning missions suitable for all profiles: there will be a role for each and every one of you

💪 Goruck Stealth Ops (paid) — Friday 21 August, evening
An outdoor night-time team-building challenge in the streets of Paris. The Stealth Ops format emphasises discretion, coordination and team cohesion. 🏆 Depending on your scores, points will be awarded to your faction for the Anomaly
💪 Goruck Urban Ops (paid) — Saturday morning
Niantic has your fitness needs covered! Want to get active first thing in the morning but find Stealth Ops a bit daunting? Try the gentler version with Urban Ops! 🏆 Depending on the scores, points will be awarded to your faction for the Anomaly
⚔️ Anomaly (FREE)— Saturday 22 August
The main battle, from 2 pm to 5 pm. Three hours of gameplay in Paris to defend portals, move Shards and draw the longest links possible!
🗺 Mission Day (FREE) — Sunday 23 August
A cross-faction event where agents complete official missions across Paris. The perfect opportunity to discover the city in a fun way, unlock badges and extend the weekend in good company.
💪 Goruck OCF (paid) — Sunday morning
Fancy exploring Paris through a real-life treasure hunt? The OCF is just the thing for you. It’s a great way to get to know the city better as a team through a series of mini-challenges.
