Paris, 1929:

🧪 For several years now, Marie’s daughter Irene had been working alongside her mother in the laboratory as her assistant. Marie’s health was steadily declining; the uranium and radium she was researching had contaminated her. She was doomed, and she knew it. Her body had also absorbed some blue matter, but it wasn’t enough to combat the uranium. She knew that before long, she would bow out. But her perseverance and the conviction that her work would help humanity kept her going.

❤️ Irene looked up to this pioneering woman who was also her mother. She had inherited from Marie this desire to make things happen, to fight for them and to challenge old customs. In Irene’s heart, it had seemed obvious: she wanted to honour her mother’s work and follow in her footsteps.

🐭 Living alongside Marie’s mice had come naturally. A group of blue-eyed mice had even volunteered to help Irene with her research.

I’ll ring Loeb straight away; he’ll be able to reason with ADA.” The intern356 continued: “They’ve apparently been spotted at a Portal Zero, I think...” He then handed over the piece of paper, the writing on which was hard to make out:
