Paris, ❄️ winter 1893

Gustave Eiffel’s offices were still buzzing with activity as they tried to decipher 🔎 this signal from the depths.

But whilst the scientists were used to a certain rhythm, for the past few days they had been observing a change in tempo 〰️ . The underground activity was becoming less and less intense. Gustave’s loyal companions had worn their fingers 🐾 to the bone, scouring every nook and cranny of Paris. They were certain : the activity was indeed decreasing and even seemed to be fading away. Had the evil been defeated 😱 ? By whom, by what ? This simple event called into question everything the scientists thought they had known from the start. Would this threat return ? Where and how ? Would it behave differently ?
